Tanzanite

Tanzanite is a transparent zoisite from the silicate family.
Its colour ranges from blue to purple due to the presence of chromium and vanadium.
It is named after the country Tanzania, where it was discovered.
Tanzanite is known for its blue colour, but it also exists in pink, yellow, green and orange, although this remains rare.
The main deposits are located in Tanzania, but it is also found in Kenya.
